About this deal

While it’s often believed that self-sabotage is the result of trying to punish ourselves, this is actually not the case at all. In The Mountain Is You, Wiest describes self-sabotage as a coping mechanism, a means of getting a need fulfilled, usually a need we aren’t fully aware we even have. An example Wiest gives is sabotaging relationships because what we really want is to know ourselves (but also don’t want to be alone). 2. “Your new life is going to cost you your old one.” You are not too broken to find someone who actually wants you, and when you begin to recognize that you are worthy of being committed to, you’ll start choosing partners who do just that.” This book also talks about the depth by which a trauma can effect a person and can be major barrier affecting not only their present but future as well and all of it is just because we're not giving enough attention to things triggering us and we are just trying to find happiness by focusing on what could or might happen in the future not knowing that it actually is a process of disassociation. Some nice reminders, but this felt like a surface level observation of many of the topics I’ve read about before. It was a very short read and most definitely could have been longer! You have to remember that your feelings, while valid, are not often real. They are not always accurate reflections of reality. They are, however, always accurate reflections of our thoughts.”

The real glow up isn’t proving the people from your past wrong. It is finally feeling so content and hopeful about your future that you stop thinking about them entirely.”I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for a book, but I really loved reading this. I’ve read multiple books about changing thought patterns and this was the first one that gave me multiple “aha” moments in personal development. When I read self help type books, I'll highlight if I come across something that rings true. I'll use a second stronger color if it provides insight or a new path I hadn't seen/thought of before, or that I had forgotten. You will come through chapters like (There is no such thing as self-sabotage), (Building emotional intelligence) and(Building a new future), there will be some parts that are better, some parts that sound to make everyone perfect from inside, everyone has the ultimate wisdom inside them, these in some parts make you question and contemplate. But overall it is still a great book. Let’s be clear about something: To put an end to your self-sabotaging behavior absolutely means that change is on the horizon. Your new life is going to cost you your old one. It’s going to cost you your comfort zone and your sense of direction. It’s going to cost you relationships and friends. It’s going to cost you being liked and understood. It doesn’t matter. The people who are meant for you are going to meet you on the other side. You’re going to build a new comfort zone around the things that actually move you forward. Instead of being liked, you’re going to be loved. Instead of being understood, you’re going to be seen. All you’re going to lose is what was built for a person you no longer are. Remaining attached to your old life is the first and final act of self-sabotage, and releasing it is what we must prepare for to truly be willing to see real change.”

Even you’ve saved the The Mountain Is You book by Brianna Wiest in PDF format, do not share it or use it for commercial use. You can do almost everything to the ebook while reading it with SwifDoo PDF. FAQs Either way, mental strength is not just hoping that nothing ever goes wrong. It is believing that we have the capacity to handle it if it does.”Brianna Wiest in New York City in 2022 signing copies of The Mountain Is You at the Strand Bookstore. You start to let go on the day you take one step toward building a new life and then let yourself lie in bed and stare at the ceiling and cry for as many hours as you need.” Next, The Mountain Is You presents strategies for identifying and stopping self-destructive behaviors. You should go deep into your core needs and release emotions properly. What triggers your self-sabotage is what guides you to overcome adversity and build a positive life. The Mountain Is You provides relevant examples of self-destructive behaviors and thoughts. For example, your negative patterns when facing with problems, hesitation to break the status quo, refusal of risky self-improvement, and like to avoid and cover up mistakes and deficiencies, etc. These may seem to ease your emotions momentarily but hinder your development like a huge mountain. To have a mountain in front of you does not mean you are fundamentally broken in some way. Everything in nature is imperfect, and it is because of that imperfec- tion that growth is possible. If everything existed in uniformity, the gravity that created the stars and planets and everything that we know would not exist. Without breaks, faults, and gaps, nothing could grow and nothing would become.
