If you have concerns about the safety or welfare of a child or young person you cannot make a referral from this website, you must contact the Initial Response Team on 0191 566 1500, or the Out of Hours contact number which is 0191 528 9110.   • speak out for themselves

What should you do if you have concerns that someone may be at risk of abuse?

You may be concerned about someone, whether or not you know them well. Someone may tell you something that has happened to them you may see or hear something happening to someone that makes you feel uneasy or uncomfortable.
