With the tinder from Outdoor Element or other homemade ones, we were able to get a fire started in a couple of seconds each time. A strong spring holds the wire gate in place for easy opening but keeps the carabiner firmly closed otherwise, and the frame also features hang slots which you can use to attach it to a keychain or whatever else you may have handy. This is literal when it comes to the Firebiner, which is a carabiner as much for everyday use as it is for survival. Answer: The Firebiner’s hang slots could be used for your keyring or anything you want to hang with by a string. If my articles helped you, I ask for your support so I can continue to provide unbiased reviews and recommendations.

I previously had a chance to review Outdoor Element's The Kodiak survival bracelet that really ignited (pun intended) my survival instincts. We carry the Aurora (multicolor) edition, which looks like piece of heat treated titanium making it even cooler. They wanted to make the color naming sound outdoorsy, but it's still easy to tell the actual colors (black, silver, blue and multicolor). I personally just bought it for the looks so I was already happy, but the practical use of the bottlecap opener was great.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. You can’t start a fire without a spark (source: Bruce Springsteen), and there’s no telling when starting a fire could save your life.

We use them to clip our keys, our camera, our water bottle, or a myriad of other products to our backpacks, to shelves, to fences, to belt loops or to whatever we need at the moment. A cleverly designed carabiner that serves both for everyday use and survival elements, the Firebiner also has a screwdriver tip, a bottle opener, a small utility blade, and a Spark Wheel all incorporated into its stainless steel frame. A survival fire-starting multitool carabiner that is as much for everyday use as it is for survival enhancement. I've also used it to hook onto my water bottle, so that I can attached it onto internal O-rings to keep it upright in my bag. In addition to its carabiner and firestarter functions, the Firebiner has three other tools integrated into its compact form.

a waste of money this is a novelty gimmick first few times good spark but after that you really have to work for a single spark you would be better off with a empty lighter for a spark.
