I played around with some "opposite" RIAA-like filter (not well executed() and got an equally ugly opposite Impulse and Step here. Aside from converting signals, this preamp was also designed to convert your analog tracks into digital ones. Thanks to the PP400’s incredible low-noise operation, your vinyl records deliver sound exactly as it’s read from your turntable’s needle. What matters most with phono preamps is low noise but this is not expensive to get right, the whole circuit needs maybe only 10 parts per side x 2 for stereo. This product prides itself in its circuitry that it can accommodate even magnetic pickup with its increased sensitivity. The USB cable, which is also how you’ll supply the UFO202 with power (a green LED lets you know it’s connected), is hard-wired and is probably the most solid thing about the unit’s design. I've been using the PRE600 phono preamp and really don't have any complaints but I realize there have got to be differences between this and the expensive ones. If you can open the mains socket from the turntable and disconnect earth wire or, if using the phono preamp disconnect the earth wire in the mains plug to that. Do note that it may seem like a small thing but having the right amount means everything from sounding accurate through distortion levels being just right.

For a couple of dollars, you can experience the high-fidelity sound of actual vinyl, the medium that launched the rock and roll revolution. The presentation is lively and fun, and actually stays true to the company’s habit of wringing every last penny's-worth of performance from its investment in its products.

Then you'll likely need a phono preamp (aka phono stage), which raises your turntable's audio output to make it compatible with line-level modern amplifiers.
